Up and coming pair Friday Woolfe and Glendalough pleased co-trainer Peter Williams with their work this morning.
Friday Woolfe (Castano) galloped with stablemate Lovelight (Singh) over 1000m which they completed in 1:02.4, finishing in 35.8 for the final 600m. Friday Woolfe put in a gutsy effort when winning his maiden at Te Aroha and heads to the Matamata meeting on Friday. Lovelight is nominated for two races at Ellerslie on Saturday, the lightly raced Zabeel 6yo turning in a nice run for third at Counties last week.
Glendalough (Singh) was partnered with Repo Sun (Castano), galloping 1000m in 1:03.2, the last 600m in 37.0. Glendalough scored his maiden win the same day as Friday Woolfe and both are nominated for the R65 1600m on Friday.
Ellerslie entrant Caprikosa (Castano) and Below Zero (Bagh) turned in smart work together, returning 1:03.3 for 1000m, coming home in 35.5 for the last 600m. Already the winner of five, Caprikosa always tries hard and looks to have taken no harm from her game run for second at Riccarton. Marzemino (Hakim) appeared to be travelling with ease at the end of 1000m, clocking 35.1 for the concluding 600m.
Silver Screen (Swai) and a Swiss Ace filly (Saxton) breezed a nice 600m in 37.4.

Going under by a short neck last year, Ronchi looks to go one better in this year’s running of the Eagle Technology Stakes.
Galloping 1000m together Ronchi (Cooksley) and stablemate Secret Ambition (Tauseef) ran the trip in 1:03.4, the final 600 in 37.6. Ronchi goes well at Ellerslie, this time last year winning two on the course as well as his closeup placing in the Group 3 Eagle Technology.
Jip Jip Rock (Castano) and Tokyo Lil (Bagh) galloped nicely together over 1000m in 1:02.1, the last 600 in 37.2. High Chaparral filly Jip Jip Rock won as she liked at Te Aroha a fortnight ago and gets her chance at black type in Saturday’s Listed Trevor Eagle Memorial. Tokyo Lil’s last run is best forgotten, trapped wide throughout, the mare gets a chance to atone in the R65 1200m at Avondale on Thursday. Star Karen(Bagh) and Selvamani (Castano) produced smart work, galloping 1000m in 1:02.0, coming home in 36.0 for the final 600m. Star Karen put in an encouraging effort on debut and is another Williams’ runner in the Trevor Eagle Memorial.
Avondale runner One Kotukustreet (Cooksley) galloped 1000m with Havana Heat (Tauseef), the pair returning 1:05.2, the 600m in 38.0. One Kotukustreet has shown speed at the trials winning her most recent, the filly by Ego lining up in the second of the Maiden 1200m events on Thursday. She’s Foxy (Singh) and Bellinsky (Singh) galloped 1000m together in 1:03.7, the last 600m in 38.8. She’s Foxy, now with the in form Peter and Dawn Williams stable, ran nicely enough on debut and should improve on that run. Starman (Wilson) and Alberation (Singh) breezed 600m in 38.0.
Madam Woo (Castano) and Friday Woolfe (Bagh) looked good running 1000m in 1:01.4, coming home in 36.3 for the final 600m and Glendalough (Singh) ran a solo 1000m in 1:04.7, the 600m in 36.8. Highland Dancer (Cooksley) and Gino Severini (Tauseef) galloped well over 1000m in 1:04.6, the 600m in 36.0 and Smart Dragon (Tauseef) galloped 1000m in 1:08.0, the 600m in 40.6. Saffy (Tauseef) and a Pierrro gelding (Cooksley) galloped 1000m in 1:06.5, the final 600m in 41.6.

Congratulations to Byerley Park trainers Peter and Dawn Williams on Media Sensation’s outstanding win in the Group One 1000 Guineas on Saturday. The I Am Invincible filly’s success capped off a superb few days for Peter and Dawn. At Te Aroha mid-week, the partnership saddled four winners with Jip Jip Rock giving Dawn her 1000th winner, the first female trainer to achieve this. Dawn’s work ethic is legendary and to make history is a fitting reward for her professionalism and dedication.
Judging by her work this morning, Marzemino looks to be well on target to add to the Williams’ winning tally when she lines up on Saturday. Galloping on her own, Marzemino (Singh) stretched out nicely over 800m in 49.0, the 600m in 36.6. A lightly raced mare by Per Incanto, Marzemino scored a strong win at her last outing and a repeat effort would not surprise in the Listed Counties Bowl.
Counties Cup hopeful Smart Dragon (Cooksley) galloped 1200m with Secret Ambition (Tauseef), the pair completing the trip in 1:15.6, 1000m in 1:01.8 and final 600m in 36.4. Below Zero (Singh) and Madam Woo (Castano) ran a smart 800m in 48.8, the 600m in 36.4. Nominated for the R65 1400m at Counties, Below Zero had no luck last time out but scored a nice win at Whangarei in early October.
Ronchi (Cooksley) worked away from the 1200m, galloping the 1000m in 1:05.3 and last 600m in 39.0. Don Blanco and Rex Royale pleased trainer Karen Zimmerman with their gallop this morning. Working together, Don Blanco (Pool) and Rex Royale(Singh) worked 1000m in a time of 1:06.3, both going to the line nicely to finish in 35.8 for the last 600m.
Vasiliki (Saxton) galloped 800 in 50.6, the 600m in 37.7 and She’s Foxy (Castano) and a Savabeel filly (Singh) were paired over 600m which they ran in 39.0. Fillies by Zoustar (Castano) and Sea The Stars (Singh) breezed 400m in 25.5.

Tauranga runner Inca Warrior turned in pleasing work this morning.
Galloping on his own over 1000, Inca Warrior (Wilson) completed the trip in 1:05.6, finishing off nicely in 38.3 for the last 600m. Trained by Steven Cole, Inca Warrior has been racing consistently well, beginning the season with a brace of wins and producing a good effort when finishing third at Te Aroha a fortnight ago.
From the Wallace/Peard stable, Smart Dragon (Cooksley) and Secret Ambition (Tauseef) galloped 1200m together, timed to run the 1000m in a quick 1:00.5, the closing 600m in 36.6. Smart work was recorded by the Karen Zimmerman trained pair, Mod Maude (Saxton) and Rex Royale (Singh) who galloped 1000m in 1:04.4, coming home in 35.5 for the final 600m.
Badea (Tauseef) galloped 1000m in 1:06.8, the 600m in 37.2 and Madam Woo (Singh) ran the same trip in 1:08.0, the last 600m in 37.6.
Lovelight (Singh) and Friday Woolfe (Castano) skipped over 800m in 49.5, the 600m in 35.5 and Thepartygirl (Singh) and Lonesome Lady (Castano) returned 51.4 for 800m, the 600m in 37.4. Naval Affair (Castano) and Niche (Singh) galloped 800m in 51.7, the 600m in 38.0 and Retzena (Singh) and a Dalghar gelding (Saxton) clocked 54.8 and 38.2 for their 800m.
Selvamani (Singh) ran 800m in 53.1, the 600m in 38.7 and Star Karen (Singh) and a Dundeel filly (Castano) from the Williams barn, travelled easily through 800m in 54.2, the last 600m in 39.0.

Ronchi and Media Sensation prepared stylishly today ahead of their Rotorua assignments.
Ronchi (Taylor) galloped 1000m clocking a smart 1:03.0 and coming home well to record 35.0 for the final 600m. Ronchi began this campaign with a strong run for third at Avondale, his Saturday mission the Group 3 Sweynesse Stakes.
Talented filly Media Sensation (Castano) galloped with stablemate Myrcella (Bagh), the pair beginning their work quietly at the 1000m, picking up speed to run the 800m in 48.8 and last 600m in 35.6. By I Am Invincible and prepared by Peter and Dawn Williams, Media Sensation showed her class as a two year old, winning both her races in smart fashion before being spelled. She resumed a fortnight ago running a tidy fourth after being slow away and looks to have taken no harm from that run. Safely through Saturday’s race, the filly may back up in the Soliloquy Stakes the following week. Myrcella’s work too was excellent, the mare nominated for the R82 1400m Rotorua on the back of a last start win at Matamata which took her winning tally to four.
Madam Woo (Singh) galloped a solo 1000 in 1:08.0, finishing in 37.5 for the last 600m and Jip Jip Rock (Castano) and Tokyo Lil (Bagh) got through 1000m in 1:09.0, the last 600m in 37.0. Selvamani (Bagh) was paired with Star Karen (Castano) over 800m which they ran in 50.5, the 600m in 36.5. O’Reilly filly Selvamani resumes at the Tauranga meeting on Friday and looked good winning at trial a fortnight ago.
Another last start winner Below Zero (Castano) galloped with Lovelight (Singh) over 800m, recording 51.0, the 600m in 37.6. Fillies by Animal Kingdom (Singh) and Rock ‘n’ Pop (Castano) worked nicely together over 800m in 51.6, the 600m in 37.4 and Caprikosa (Singh) galloped 800m in 54.2 the 600m in 38.0. Bellinsky (Bagh) and a Tavistock filly (Singh) breezed 600m in 36.8 and Marzemino (Singh) ran 600m in 39.0.
