Named after one of the foundation sires of thoroughbred The Byerley Turk, the uniquely designed Byerley Park was established to fill a void in the Auckland area following the closure of the Takanini training centre. We are one of New Zealand's leading thoroughbred training complexes, offering trainers the most state-of-the-art and user-friendly facilities.
Byerley Park encompasses a 1600m training track with two lead in tracks of 200m and 900m respectively, totalling almost 2400m. Our paceworking and galloping tracks are Woodhill sand which gives an exceptional surface to work on no matter the weather. Also available are a separate warm-up track, arena, lunging rings, tie-ups, treadmill, wash bays and viewing box.
We are situated at Karaka, South Auckland, approximately 12 easy minutes from the Southern Motorway off-ramp at Papakura and close to leading studs Westbury and Haunui, with a host of smaller stud farms and boutique operations also in the immediate area.
Our aim is to create the best track possible using the best engineering advice and common sense horsemanship.
